Re-post : A PITCH MEETING WITH JESSE EISENBERG

In honor of Jesse hosting SNL this weekend (1/29/11) I am re-posting this piece - originally posted 10/5/09 @ 1:14pm
**************
A PITCH MEETING WITH JESSE EISENBERG

Studio Executive:
Hey Jesse - thanks for coming in. I have several new projects that I think you are gonna love.

Jesse:
That sounds awesome. I'm really looking forward to branching out into some interesting and challenging character work.

Studio Executive:
Great! So first up is a commercial spot for a big soft drink- and we also want to talk to your sister Hallie Kate about this.....So it's set in an Italian restaurant and..

Jesse:
Stop. It sounds like "The Godfather Girl" spot , plus one.... I'm not interested

Studio Executive:
Great! I totally understand Ok.... so I have a couple of films for your consideration.
The first project is titled: 'Rye Playland' and it's....

Jesse:
Hold on just a sec.... is that set in the Amusement Park Rye Playland?

Studio Executive:
Yup! In Rye NY! You're from New York right?!

Jesse:
Ok - cause I'm kinda trying to move away from the whole amusement park genre thing - after starring in Adventureland and Zombieland...ya know?

Studio Executive:
Gotcha - well true, this one is set in an amusement park - but here's the catch...
you would NOT be a virgin....

Jesse:
Hmmm... interesting - but still I think I want to avoid the amusement park thing....
I mean I'm not even amused by amusement parks in real life... so whatever...what else do you have?

Studio Executive:
Ok - this film sounds hilarious... it's called "This Land is Your Land" and...

Jesse:
Yeah, I'm kinda also trying to avoid movies with the word "Land" in them, but maybe
I can consider it - if there are no amusement parks involved...

Studio Executive:
Great! well- it's a mockumentary so it will be hilarious.. and you will play this guy
who is a Roller Coaster enthusiast who travels across the country trying to break
the Guinness book of World Records in Coaster....

Jesse:
Stop right there. So It has the word Land, and is all about Amusement Parks...and I am assuming my character is a virgin?

Studio Executive:
Well - yes - but the good new is - you will get to wear brown corduroy pants & a hoodie,
and you get to shyly make out with a hot brunette chick....

Jesse:
Ok. I'm outta here.... (leaves)

Studio Executive:
Wait! How about hosting Saturday Night Live?

Jesse: (comes back in the room)
Yeah .....NOW you're talkin'!

My SNL Dream 10.5.10

My SNL Dream...
by
Evie Aronson on Tuesday, October 5, 2010 at 7:25pm
I was back stage at SNL and Keanu Reeves was the host - he ran out on stage wearing a pair of chaps and no shirt (!) while the band was playing and he did some kind of pyro effect....
Later I was at the after-party talking to Jesse Eisenberg and Will Ferrell - they both had curly hair so I said Will could have been Jesse's stunt
double in "The Social Network" ! (as if he needed one for that film!)
The only problem the director would always be like "Will, you have to bend down a little - you're too tall"
They thought this was hilarious - Will 'Yes And'd ' this idea and started bending down so he was the same height as Jesse. Then I think I left. What a fun party - hahahahahahah
p.s. Today is Jesse Eisenberg's Birthday - Oct 5th!

RESTREPO

You must see this documentary:
RESTREPO -
by Sebastian Junger and Tim Hetherington - they were "embedded" journalists and they followed one US Army platoon in Afghanistan, starting with deployment for one year
http://www.restrepothemovie.com/

I saw the film at Angelika NYC on 7/9 and a pleasant surprise
Tim Hetherington did a Q&A after the film! It was so cool to meet him…
Check out his website here:
http://www.timhetherington.com/
Also the book by Sebastian Junger (about the same platoon) is:
WAR
http://www.twelvebooks.com/books/war.asp
The film is so powerful - you will go thru every emotion with the guys...
amazing... Thank you for making this film...

Landon...Yes! dwts???

I was in the audience for the taping of "Centerstage" (YES Network) featuring Landon Donovan...
here's my blurry photo attempt in between takes...

here he is in action.....

They asked the audience to write down some questions for Landon (that never got used) - my question was "Would you ever consider being a contestant on Dancing With The Stars?"
That would be cool...

Thanks to the US ARMY

My Dad, Robert B. Aronson,
served in the US Army from 1953 – 1955
(Rank upon discharge: Sergeant).

He was a Bio Chemist and was stationed
at the General Hospital at Fort Sam Houston, TX.
While he was there he met my Mom, Edna Gray Brucks,
a civilian working at the Hospital as a lab technician.
They were married August 16, 1955.

So….if it wasn’t for the US Army, I wouldn’t be here today!

sabatoge the graduation!

My cousin Alex graduated from Canandaigua Academy on June 26, 2010 -
I tried to sabatoge the cap and gown at the last minute....
The plan didn't work, so we went to the commencement excercises at CMAC

I'm proud

Now he's ready for school in NYC!
